It all starts with a phone call and the question about the spices in a phở. The daughters of former Vietnamese GDR contract worker Manh Müller only learnt to appreciate the food of their childhood after they moved out in adulthood. Now it is the first step in their search for identity. They encourage their parents to open a Vietnamese street food restaurant in Chemnitz and rediscover their own culture. ‘Love our people like you love our food’ (AT) explores the multi-layered connections between Vietnamese culture and food against the backdrop of their German migration history.
